The Friends of Erindale Road Bushland was established in 2019 in response to BAI Communications' plans to clear remnant bushland where the Hamersley Broadcast Tower is located for housing . The group began with concerned members of the Hamersley community and has since grown to include people from across Perth and greater Western Australia who value this ecologically significant bushland and are committed to protecting it for generations to come. We are a voluntary community group united by a shared dedication to conserving this Banksia Woodland within a highly urbanised area, that provides vital habitat for the endangered Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo and other native wildlife.
Our aims and objectives are:
To campaign to protect and conserve the 42ha that is the Banksia and Tuart woodland within Lot 802 and 803 Erindale Road Hamersley.
To undertake activities to advance these objectives.
To raise public awareness and understanding of the conservation and environmental values of the Banksia and Tuart woodland, including its importance as a foraging habitat for the endangered Carnaby's Black Cockatoo.
Help us protect our valuable bushland - join today!
